Distributed and Usable?

Had an enjoyable and provocative email exchange a few days ago with Ev, the author of this timely and relevant article:

“Distributed Everything”

I share the writer’s concerns about freedom and privacy on the Internet, but I don’t believe that the solution is for everyone to learn to code. That seems unlikely to happen. People are busy, and people have different skills. A more pragmatic alternative: build better, more usable open source software.
